Location

Muse Bangkok is located behind Lumpini Park, next to the business district of Sathom. The gay bars and clubs in Soi 2 and 4 are just a little bit far for walking – about half an hour – but a taxi or tuktuk will get you there in a little over five minutes. There is a BTS station less than ten minutes from the hotel, and you can also easily walk to a river taxi pier for the easiest public transport to the main cultural sights.

Style & Design

Muse Bangkok is an exceptionally beautiful hotel. The style is elegant, with nods to old-fashioned European grandeur like vaulted ceilings, glass domes, and extravagant rugs. The common areas are more opulent than the rooms, which use decorative elements like dark wood paneling and plushy furniture to allude to vintage luxury while still feeling modern.

Facilities

Muse Bangkok is home to Medici, selected by Thailand Tatler as the best Italian restaurant in Bangkok for three years in a row. There is also a 1920’s themed steakhouse that feels like stepping a century into the past, as well as a very attractive rooftop bar and a polished salon bar. The rooftop infinity pool is beautifully landscaped and has great views of the city, and the adjacent fitness suite is state-of-the-art.

Rooms

All the rooms in Muse Bangkok are decorated with a blend of European and Thai influences. The Muse Deluxe, the simplest category of room, comes with an impossibly comfy bed, separate bathtub and rain shower, iPod docking station, and work desk. The Muse Grand Deluxe goes a step further, with a lovely standalone clawfoot bathtub and large corner rooms with wide panoramas of the city. For an especially luxurious experience, upgrade to a Yama Executive room or a Suite, which come with Club La Boutique Privilege access. Club access comes with a complimentary selection of canapes, desserts, and cocktails at the rooftop bar every evening, as well as an in-room espresso machine and special check-in and check-out options.

Brand Collaboration

I am a big lover of the design here, it’s very thoughtful and theatrical, perfect for taking photos. The Speakeasy Bar and the basement restaurant were highlights of our stay. The marketing team even met us to talk us through the design and food, which was a nice touch. Plus, there’s an amazing and affordable massage parlor right next door!

I love the fact that they embrace diversity in their hiring for the front line. It says a lot about the company’s values. They never once made us feel uncomfortable and always welcomed us warmly. The king-size bed and the bathtub are absolutely fantastic for gay couples.
