If you are looking to party hard in Phuket and visit the gay bars on the island then we recommend staying in Patong. You will be close to the action at night, but Patong Beach is also amongst the most crowded in the island. If you are looking for a more relaxed vacation take a look at resorts on the surrounding beaches on the island.
For a mix, Kata beach is close enough to allow you to enjoy Phuket’s more luxurious side during the day, while still being close enough to indulge in excesses of the nightlife.
Phuket is one the most visited islands in the world and is very gay-friendly for tourists. Almost all hotels in Thailand and Phuket can be described as gay-friendly. It would be highly uncommon for a hotel or guesthouse to make any an issue of a gay couple checking in.
Hotels will often ask for the occupancy of the room. If travelers try to bring extra guests into their room late at night, the front desk will often ask for ID from the extra guest. This happens to both male and female extra guests and is for the safety of both parties.
If you want to party in Phuket, staying near to Patong Beach is the place to be. None of the other resort towns on the island come close to the loud, intense, dizzying party vibe of Patong. Patong has a good selection of accommodation to suit all budgets. To be at the heart of the gay Phuket nightlife, you can either stay in a hotel around the Paradise Complex center of gay town (walking distance) or in Patong Town (taxi distance).
Unfortunately, this also means that Patong can be a loud, intense, and dizzying place to stay, which is not ideal for everyone. Fortunately, there are many quiet beaches spread across the island where you get your relax on.

The Courtyard by Marriott Phuket offers a beautifully calm escape right in the center of all the convenience, entertainment, and services of Patong Beach. It provides a peaceful sanctuary where the service is smooth, allowing you to hide away from the noise while still having everything at your doorstep.
Spending my day off here felt incredibly simple, happy, and fulfilling. The easygoing, welcoming environment makes it a very relaxing and safe choice for gay travelers who want to enjoy Phuket at their own pace without any fuss.
♥ Perfect location for both, quiet during the day and Patong’s gay nightlife
♥ A true beachfront resort (very rare in Patong)
♥ Located within walking distance of Bangla Road and gay nightlife
♥ Two swimming pools plus pool access to ground floor rooms
♥ Insta-perfect rooftop bar for sunset cocktails
The views over the bay from the Coral area are breathtaking. I spent most of my time between the stunning pool near the Italian restaurant and the bar, which has some of the best sea views in Phuket. One experience you can’t miss? The High Tea in the trees. It’s super fun, incredibly pretty, and a total ‘Gram moment. Just a heads-up: skip the DIY transport and have the hotel organize your transfer, it’s a bit of a trek from the main hub, and you’ll want to arrive in style.
While Patong town itself wasn’t our favorite vibe, the Amari felt like a safe, elevated sanctuary away from the chaos. It’s a beautiful spot to retreat to with your partner after exploring the island, offering that perfect balance of luxury and local charm.
The Amari Phuket is a practical, expansive base for exploring the island, featuring stunning sea views from both the living room and the bedroom space. The rooms are highly functional, equipped with separate kitchen and living areas, and the towel elephants left on the bed are a cute touch. Because it is a massive resort popular with families, the pathways can be lively and calling buggies takes a moment, but the view day and night is lovely.
Everything went well and we felt entirely comfortable during our stay. The resort’s demographic skews heavily toward family tourists, but the staff are highly professional, polite, and ensure that LGBTQ+ guests have a safe, respected, and smooth experience.
The Amari Phuket offers amazing sea views visible from both your private living space and the bedroom. The service is strictly first-class, backed by an attentive, friendly team that crafts excellent cocktails. The pool decks are beautifully uncrowded, maintaining a relaxed and chilled vibe throughout the day. While the cozy, rocky private beach layout means sunbeds are kept on the grass decks rather than the sand, it remains a pristine and sophisticated coastal escape.
We felt incredibly safe and respected throughout our time at the property. The layout and service culture provide a highly comfortable, protective, and open environment for LGBTQ+ guests looking to enjoy Patong from a refined vantage point.
♥ InstaPerfect hillside views
♥ Huge private pool villas
♥ Most booked among gay couples
♥ Excellent value for money pool villas
This hotel screams LUXURY. High above the hills, you get an undisturbed view of Bang Tao Beach. I stayed in an Ocean View Pool Villa, and it was literally heaven. The floating breakfast was such a fun touch! Service is quick, and the buggies make getting around the resort easy. I also loved gymming in the middle of the woods—super peaceful.
The hospitality here is top-notch. As a gay traveler on a solo trip, I felt completely safe and respected. The spa and the secluded nature of the villas make it a perfect escape for anyone looking for privacy and high-end service.
The Pavilions is a total dreamscape. Everything from the lush grounds to the lobby architecture feels natural and gorgeous. The service here is world-class—whether it’s the buggies whisking you around the property or the in-room dining, everyone is professional and incredibly welcoming. We had an unforgettable dinner at ALTO; every plate that came out was better than the last. It’s one of those rare hotels that makes you want to book your next stay before you’ve even checked out.
For a couple looking for privacy and high-end wellness, this is the ultimate. The staff are extremely professional and make you feel 100% welcome. It’s the kind of place where you can prioritize self-care and your relationship in a stunning, inclusive environment.
The private villas at this resort are massive, spacious, and centered around an amazing private pool where you can spend your days in absolute seclusion. At Alto Restaurant, Chef Pietro crafts spectacular, bespoke 5-course menus tailored precisely to your dietary preferences, and the couples massage at the spa is a romantic masterpiece where you select your own oils. The property trades a walkable beach for a stunning hillside vantage point, which is best experienced with live music at the 360 Bar during sunset.
We were so well looked after by the attentive team. We noticed several other gay couples staying at the resort, which added an extra layer of comfort. The deep privacy of the villa layout ensures you feel entirely safe, respected, and free to be yourself.

♥ Instagram opportunities everywhere
♥ Four food and beverage options

The location of the Outrigger is fantastic, sitting just three minutes away from Surin Beach, which is famous for crystal-clear waters and pristine sand without the tourist crowds. The spacious rooms highlight lovely private plunge pools, and the cheerful staff are consistently eager to help. It serves as an ideal base for driving to nearby attractions like the elephant sanctuary. The breakfast hot food section changes daily to keep things fresh, and while the hot options are kept tightly focused, the overall quality and service are excellent.
We felt very comfortable and safe during our stay. The staff are remarkably friendly, and while the hotel’s layout makes it an ideal spot for family tourists, the inclusive and warm hospitality ensures that gay travelers feel entirely respected and at ease.

My stay on Naka Island was nothing short of magical, blending deep relaxation with excitement seamlessly. The spacious rooms with private plunge pools provide the ultimate luxury retreat. The on-site restaurant exceeds expectations, serving delectable dishes that nourish both the palate and soul, and the abundance of free water activities—ranging from snorkeling to kayaking—ensures there is never a dull moment. The exceptionally friendly staff constantly go the extra mile to craft a memorable island escape.
This secluded haven is a paradise for couples looking to escape the busy city traffic. The deep privacy of the private pool villas and the warm local service provide an incredibly safe, respectful, and romantic sanctuary where you can relax in total comfort.

♥ Quiet & peaceful beach – the opportunity to get away from the Patong madness
♥ Sprawling private pool villas
♥ Impressive onsite spa
The pool and beachfront areas at the Renaissance display some of the most breathtaking sunset views and beautiful coastal scenery found in Phuket. The resort is fully equipped with premium amenities, including a 24-hour gym and a gorgeous spa sanctuary. Because the restaurants feature high-quality, made-to-order selections, table wait times can run a bit long during peak hours, and being in a dense tropical environment means you might spot a native insect outdoors, but the overall luxury experience is fantastic.
We felt very comfortable throughout our entire stay. The staff treated us exceptionally well and were remarkably thoughtful and respectful in the way they addressed us as a couple, making this a top-tier premium recommendation for the community.

M Social Phuket features clean, exceptionally spacious rooms packed with every amenity you could possibly want. The central courtyard is highlighted by a massive, incredibly cool swimming pool where the pool bar shakes up a fantastic Pina Colada. Located right in the center of Patong, you are just a two-minute walk from the famous Bang La Road. The property sits in a high-energy area and offers a single main pool-side restaurant on-site, but the endless dining options immediately outside the lobby make it a practical and exciting base.
The hotel staff treated us with genuine kindness and warmth. The guest demographic can skew slightly more heteronormative than other properties in Phuket, but the exceptional helpfulness of the team ensures that LGBTQ+ couples feel completely safe, welcome, and secure in the space.
