Romantic Slow-Burn: Sun, Sand, and Total Privacy
"I’m a total beach lover, and for this trip with my partner, we just wanted to disappear into the nature and take things at a snail's pace. Khao Lak is perfect for that. It’s a super charming, 'straight-acting' beach town, but don't let that fool you, it's incredibly peaceful and we felt 100% welcome. If you're looking for a romantic reset where you can just be yourselves, I think this is exactly the right spot."
"If you're looking for a big gay scene with rainbows and drag shows, Khao Lak isn't that place, but it’s something arguably better for a romantic trip: it’s a total safe haven. Honestly, I felt totally fine showing affection here. Whether we were on the beach or in the local spots, it was a 'green light' vibe the whole time. There aren't any dedicated gay bars or saunas in town, but don't let that stop you. Qyuri Gin & Cocktail Bar was our go-to for a cool, inclusive vibe, some gays there, with live music."
