Best Gay Hotels in Pattaya

As the closest beach resort town to Bangkok, Pattaya has one of Thailand’s liveliest gay scenes, as well as some of its most notorious nightlife. Most of the gay bars and clubs are concentrated in two areas of central Pattaya near the beach, BoyzTown and Sunee Plaza. However, there is a third gay hub in the area: Dongtan beach in Jomtien, a little bit south of Pattaya.

The city has for a long time been infamous for its seedy sex industry. This bad reputation is dissipating as the sex trade becomes regulated and a more relaxed, family-friendly vibe settles in through the area. That said, central Pattaya is still a loud, hedonistic party town, and there is still very much a seedy underbelly to it all.

This is why many visitors prefer to stay in Jomtien. This gives them easy access to the fun gay beach life (and after all, that’s what you’re looking for when you head to the Thai coast) while also having the option to hop on a taxi and go out in Pattaya.

However, the party scene in Pattaya is undoubtedly fun, and many people just want to stay at the heart of it all. Ultimately, it’s down to what you like: stay in Pattaya if you enjoy a more hardcore party vibe, or head to Jomtien if spending the day on a gay beach is more your thing.

Pattaya is a very popular gay destination, so there is no such thing as non-gay-friendly accommodation. Every hotel in the area will be used to receiving gay guests, and it is unheard of for gay travelers to have issues.

There are a few hotels and resorts which are particularly popular with gay visitors, especially ones close to Dongan Beach such as Rabbit Resort, Zing Resort and Spa, and Welcome World Beach Resort and Spa. There are also a few gay-only and gay-owned hotels in the area, such as Baan Souy Resort, COPA Gay Hotel, and Poseidon Boutique Hotel.

Why we love it

♥ In BoyzTown – Gay Pattaya right on your doorstep
♥ Comfortable and well-decorated suites
♥ Massage service available

COPA is another hotel in the heart of BoyzTown, and a great place to stay if you plan to party hard during your time in Pattaya. As expected, it does get noisy at night, but it’s perfectly quiet in the mornings (when you are likely to be doing most of your sleeping).

The rooms are decorated simply, but with attractive pieces of traditional Thai decor. There are six categories of room, with the higher ones being definitely worth spending a bit more money on. The suites feel more like real apartments than hotel rooms, which gives them a great “home away from home” feel.

COPA offers tour desk services, airport transfers, and a personal in-room massage service.

♥ Rooftop swimming pool
♥ Stylish and modern decor

Page 10 Hotel is a modern and stylish 3-star hotel in Central Pattaya. BoyzTown is a 10-minute walk away and Sunee Plaza just ten minutes further. This has offered a great compromise between being close to the gay nightlife but being able to get a good night’s sleep if you want to.

The decor is chic and contemporary, and the hotel feels new. Even the most basic rooms are spacious and include a rain shower, separate tub, bathrobe, slippers, and more. The suites come equipped with a basic kitchenette and Nespresso coffee machine – try the Jacuzzi Suite with your own private hot tub.

Page 10 has a cool rooftop swimming pool area where you can watch the bustle of the city down below. It has its own bar, and there is also a nice lounge bar downstairs. Breakfast is of a high standard and the hotel restaurant serves tasty Thai and international meals throughout the day.

♥ Large, airy, comfortable rooms

The Baywalk Residence is located right on Pattaya Beach Road, an excellent location for enjoying the beach during the day and the nightlife in the evening. It’s under a 5-minute walk to BoyzTown and just over 10 minutes to Sunee Plaza.

It’s a modern resort-style hotel offering extremely good value accommodation. The rooms are decorated in a simple neutral style, and feature large floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in plenty of natural light. All rooms are spacious and very comfortable – Deluxe Room with balcony and sea view is a great choice.

♥ In the middle of BoyzTown
♥ Spacious suites available
♥ Attentive and friendly staff

Ambiance Hotel literally couldn’t be any closer to Pattaya’s gay nightlife, as it is located in the very center of BoyzTown. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want to make the most of gay Pattaya every night, but be warned – it’s not the ideal place to get a restful night’s sleep.

The rooms are a bit on the dated side, but they are comfortable and spacious, especially the suites. The Penthouse Suite with sun terrace is a particularly good option to book.

Ambiance Pattaya offers a range of services, including a limousine service to and from Bangkok and Pattaya and a massage service. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs, which conveniently stays open until 2 AM. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the standard of cleanliness is generally very high.

Why we love it

♥ Very gay-friendly and in the middle of Jomtien gay nightlife
♥ Good value for money, especially in the higher room categories
♥ Exceptional restaurant with dedicated Wine Cellar

Poseidon Boutique Hotel is a gay-friendly hotel in Jomtien, about a 15-minute walk from the gay beach. It’s right next door to a grouping of popular gay venues including 4-T Bar, Cocka2 Bar, and 2C Bar, which means the Jomtien gay nightlife is literally on your doorstep.

The hotel rooms are furnished in a simple and tasteful style, with super comfortable beds and good amenities. The VIP Studio comes with a whirlpool bathtub, which is the perfect way to end a long day at the beach (or soak away a hangover). The suites are particularly luxurious and offer great value for money, with the Master suite being ideally suited to two couples.

The restaurant at Poseidon Hotel is excellent, with food far beyond the usual hotel fare. Breakfast is a la carte and very good quality. Once a month, the chef hosts exclusive tasting menus, always for under 1000 TBH. The hotel bar is exceptional in that it is a Wine Cellar with a vast selection of international wines, ideal if you struggle to find your favorite variety in Thailand.

There is no outdoor pool, but the intimate indoor pool is a pleasant and relaxing space. It also comes with a poolside bar that serves a good selection of exotic cocktails.

Why we love it

♥ Home to Pattaya’s only gay sauna
♥ Convenient location for both Jomtien and Central Pattaya
♥ Several room options, most with free breakfast and sauna access

This gay Pattaya hotel is home to Sansuk Sauna, the only gay sauna in Pattaya. It has all the usual facilities, with a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, darkroom, and private cabins. There are also dedicated massage rooms, in which you can purchase special services. Of course, this makes Sansuk Guesthouse by far the most convenient accommodation choice if you’re looking to do some cruising in Pattaya.

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Make sure you get one that includes free breakfast and access to the sauna (most of them do). The Garden Room, with its own patio garden, is a particularly nice option, and the two-bedroom suite is a good choice for four people to share.

Sansuk Guesthouse is located a little bit far from both Pattaya and Jomtien, although the advantage is that it sits more or less in between them. It’s a 10 to 15-minute drive to either Dongtan Beach or BoyzTown in Central Pattaya, which makes this a good location if you can’t choose between both.

Why we love it

♥ High standards of care and maintenance
♥ Elegant and spacious rooms, some with unique luxury touches
♥ Pleasant hotel pool and very good wellness facilities

This Jomtien resort is just a 10-minute walk away from the gay beach, and you can easily take a taxi or bus into Pattaya if you want a big night out. The hotel has 71 rooms and an intimate boutique vibe, which can be seen in the great staff and service.

AGATE offers a range of room sizes and styles, all decorated with modern furnishings and a handful of elegant Thai touches. Most of the rooms are very spacious, especially the family 4-person rooms, which make for a great-value option for groups of friends traveling together.
Certain rooms have great extras, like the Fossil Room with its open-air rain shower or the opulent gold mosaic bathtub in the Agate suite.

The pool in the middle of the hotel is a lovely place to spend a few hours in the sun, and is large enough for swimming. The poolside bar helps you stay refreshed during your pool time. There is a quiet and pleasant spa offering traditional Thai treatments and, next to it, a smaller saltwater pool for wellness and relaxation. Another great touch is a free tuk-tuk shuttle service to and from Jomtien beach.

Why we love it

♥ Gay hotel in Jomtien, with gay-focused service
♥ Spacious studios and apartments
♥ Convenient tuk-tuk shuttle service to gay Pattaya hotspots

Baan Souy is one of the few gay hotels in Pattaya, although it is straight-friendly. The resort offers everything you could need for a comfortable stay, in elegant surroundings inspired by traditional Thai aesthetics.

One of the biggest benefits of staying here is that your experience is fully tailored to gay travelers. The staff are knowledgeable about Pattaya’s gay scene, and are always happy to give advice and recommendations. Meanwhile, a super-convenient (and reasonably priced) tuk-tuk service to Dong Tan beach or Boyztown in Pattaya means that you will end up saving on taxis during your stay.

Accommodation is either studio or apartment-style, so you always get your own kitchenette and separate living area. All the rooms have either a private balcony, poolside access, or in the case of the Penthouse Apartment, exclusive direct access to the guest Roof Terrace.

The hotel offers great facilities, especially for a two-star. The central swimming pool is a great social hub for meeting your fellow gay guests, as are the restaurant and lobby bar. There is a small but well-equipped gym with dedicated staff, and you can even hire a personal trainer or book a Thai massage.

Why we love it

♥ Outstanding gay-friendly hotel in Dongtan (gay) Beach
♥ Beautiful hotel grounds with good pool
♥ Hotel bar and restaurant right on the gay beach

Rabbit Resort is as close as you can get to Dongtan Beach without sleeping on the sand itself, making it one of the most in-demand hotels in the region for gay beachgoers. It is among the top 10 hotels in all of Pattaya on TripAdvisor, so it’s not just a great gay location you’re getting.

The resort is absolutely gorgeous, with individual traditional Thai bungalows sitting among a tropical jungle of greenery. Sitting in the middle of this beautiful garden, it’s easy to forget that you are in the middle of big, bustling Pattaya.

There are essentially two styles of room, although the amenities and size vary. The Forest rooms are truly spectacular, with wide windows and balconies that make you feel like you are in a luxury treehouse. The Gold and Silver categories of the room feature classical Thai decor, with elegant furniture and traditional patterns and pieces.

There are also Gold and Silver villas, which are an ideal choice for groups of four. For ultimate privacy and comfort, you can even book an individual poolside bungalow or the very intimate forest bungalow.

The hotel restaurant sits right on Dongtan Beach and serves authentic Thai food throughout the day, although Western dishes are also available. Its location also means that it is always busy with gay guys from the beach, giving it a casual and very gay-friendly vibe.

Another great thing about Rabbit Resort is just how personal the service is. The owner is closely involved with the running of the property, and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Overall, this is one of the region’s best independent hotels, and a Jomtien gem.
