You’d think that as a gay, playful paradise, Palm Springs would have saunas and bathhouses on every street corner. That’s actually not the case.
Palm Springs does it one step better. It had the most clothing-optional men-only gay resorts in the nation, and many of them offer day passes. This means that the opportunity for guests to make even more new friends greatly increases.
As a bonus, if day guests meet someone they’d like to spend the night with, they can just book a room there. Some even deduct the day pass cost from the room rate.
Most clothing-optional resorts are in the same few blocks, 1 mile south of downtown Palm Springs. There is one to the north and another in the second gayborhood of Cathedral City to the south.
Vista Grande Resort has three pools, a bathing lagoon, a steam room, and an 18-man hot tub. It’s conveniently located 1 mile south of the gay strip, and day passes are available. Vista Grande Resort is the most popular gay sauna in Palm Springs.
All Worlds Resort, one mile south of the gay strip, has a 24-hour heated pool, hot tub, outdoor showers, and an indoor and 24-hour outdoor maze. Day, night, or weekend passes are available. The weekend pass includes a BBQ pool party on Sunday.
CCBC resort is a fantasy playground with a pool, spa, and waterfall. Day passes are available, and there are international sex parties held on various Saturdays. It’s located in Cathedral City, Palm Springs’ southern gayborhood.
Canyon Club Hotel is a gay-men-only resort north of the downtown area, a mile from the gay strip. The pool area also contains a party-sized hot tub. Day passes are available.
Ten minutes south of Palm Springs is Cathedral City, and The Barracks is on the main road of E Palm Canyon Dr. Formerly, Wolf’s was rebranded to the Barracks, but the crowd remains the same — leather, bears, and daddies.
There’s live entertainment daily, plus every night is cruise night. The Barracks is open from midday until 2 am.
Just south of Downtown Palm Springs on E Sunny Dunes Road is Tool Shed. Primarily a leather and daddies bar, everyone is welcome. Voted ‘the best dive bar in Palm Springs,’ every night has a different theme.
Open daily from 10 am to 2 am, there’s bingo on Tuesdays and Saturdays, underwear night on Thursdays, and cruise night on Fridays. Happy hour runs from 10 am to 8 pm.
