Having established itself as Thailand’s trendiest city, Chiang Mai now has more than its share of stylish luxury hotels. Here, you’ll find everything from cool and hip urban pads to lavish villas steeped in the Thai tradition. We have focused on hotels in the fashionable Nimman area and riverside locations. Two central spots where you will where you’ll find a lot of the gay Chiang Mai nightlife.
Yes, all the hotels listed in Chiang Mai are gay-friendly. To be fair, almost all hotels in Thailand could be classed as “gay-friendly.” For visitors, Chiang Mai is a very gay-friendly city.
Hotels will often ask for the occupancy of the room. If travelers try to bring extra guests into their room late at night, the front desk will often ask for ID from the extra guest. This happens to both male and female extra guests and is for the safety of both parties.
The two most popular areas in Chiang Mai to stay are the Night Bazaar and Nimman. Most of Chiang Mai’s gay bars are located in the Night Bazaar area, while many of the best shopping and trendy restaurants are in Nimman.
Chiang Mai is a small city, and like most of Thailand, the city suffers from traffic jams. Traffic depending you can cross from Nimman to the Night Bazaar in a 15-minute taxi ride but with traffic, this could go up to 45 mins.
