Ibis Berlin Kurfürstendamm is very well located near Tiergarten, the zoo, and the Schöneberg gay area. There are gay bars like Blue Boy Bar, K6, New Action, and Bull just over five minutes away, and all of the rest of the gay venues in the neighborhood are at most a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Because of this, this is a consistently popular choice for gay travelers to Berlin.
The standard rooms are on the smaller side, but are very bright, modern, and comfortable, featuring Ibis’ own Sweet Bed design. There are larger rooms with balconies, which are particularly comfortable and feature a lovely view over Wittenberg Platz, the KaDeWe department store, and the Berlin skyline. There are also several themed rooms from Ibis’ “MyRoom” range, which allows employees to design rooms based on their interests – here, these range from nature to gaming to David Bowie.
There is a bar downstairs serving snacks and drinks round-the-clock. The buffet breakfast is very good, serving nice coffee and a varied range of hot and cold foods.
This Ibis is based in a large building, immediately next to Ibis Budget (see below). As usual for the Ibis brand, this hotel is a step above the Budget brand, meaning that the breakfast is better and more varied, there is a bar, and the rooms are larger.
♥ Good value for money
♥ Comfortable, clean, and well-designed rooms
♥ Good breakfast buffet
