Most Booked

You’d think that as Mykonos attracts many gay travelers, there would be gay-only hotels on every street corner. Surprisingly, that’s not the case; there are only a handful.

Akkadian Hotel tops the list as it’s a 5-star luxury resort that's super-classy and less than 20 minutes walk from the beach. The resort is now gay-only, so guests can be free to express themselves as only they know how.

Tucked away, it’s a private, hidden oasis yet close enough to the beach and the town — under a mile away. The resort has a restaurant, and the seasonal pool and deck area so get pumped for daily live DJ from 6 pm - midnight, plus exclusive performances of the season, negating the need to ever leave. This is one of the most booked gay hotels in Mykonos.

Why We Love It

♥ Officially a gay-only hotel (since 2024)
♥ Luxury 5-star resort with outdoor pool
♥ Less than 20 minutes walk to the beach
♥ Suites with plunge pool are available

Location

It’s a 5-minute walk to the beach and just under a mile to the Fabrika bus station at the southern end of Mykonos Town. Elia, Mykonos’ most popular gay beach, is just over a 15-minute taxi ride away, and Super Paradise is only a 10-minute drive. An advantage of being set back from the beach is that the resort has a private, more intimate feel, allowing guests to escape from everyday life and free themselves from any inhibitions. For convenience, there’s a bus stop and a supermarket opposite the resort.

Style & Design

Like many properties on Mykonos, Akkadia has chosen Cycladic architecture, with lots of white and ceramic. It’s put together with a lot of class and modern themes. The amenities are the hotel’s own signature ones. The resort is single-story, which adds to its hidden and intimate feeling. Everything about the hotel is inviting and welcoming.

Facilities

The Greek Islands' summers get hot, so the pool is the place to hang out. Palm trees surround it on one side, and luxury beach sofas are protected from the sun by large umbrellas on the other. Mykonos is well known for its beach clubs, which can get really crowded during the summer season. However, Akkadia Mykonos guests needn’t worry. DJ Kappa Nee invites them to join him on the resort’s deck to dance under the Mykonos stars to the best beats. There are some excellent restaurants in Mykonos town, but Akkadian Mykonos also covers that. Anu Bar and Restaurant serves a combination of Asian fusion and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The hotel boasts its very own gym, perfect for sweating out those extra indulgences from the bar and restaurant!

Rooms

Classic double rooms are 20m2 and are ideal for two people. The deluxe double rooms have either pool or side sea views. They’re slightly larger at 25m2. All the rooms are soundproof, have private entrances, and are sleek and elegant in design. For that added level of luxury, upgrade to the executive room, which has a private plunge pool, or the Akkadian suite, which also has a private plunge pool and kitchen facilities. The suite is 35m2 and includes a sofa bed in case there’s an extra guest.
