Seoul’s sauna and cruise club scene is relatively small and while most are open 24 hours most saunas are busy from early evening until the small hours. Most of the saunas and cruise clubs are located in the two main gay nightlife hubs, Itaewon’s Homo Hill and Jongro-3. Similar to nightlife most of Seoul’s gay saunas don’t get busy until late around 2-3 am when the guys start to leaving the clubs.
It is commonplace for gay saunas in Seoul to restrict access based on age, race, fitness and general ‘hotness’.
Prince Sauna is a popular gay sauna & cruise club but small on the 3rd floor of the building. It has a very strict policy for fit and young men only! While other gay saunas only accept locals, Prince Sauna occasionally foreigners who fit the brief are welcomed.
The sauna is located near Shinchon Station in Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, open 24 hours daily and peak hours are from 5 pm on weekends. Offers a comfortable space with no sauna or jacuzzi but a shower area, condoms & lube are included.
Don’t miss its peak time which is weekends from 5 pm – 11 pm.
Crowd: Prince Sauna & Cruise Club attracts a cute & young university crowd, local guys in their 20s and 30s, but some mature men and foreigners are welcome.
Entry: The sauna’s entry fee from 7 am – 7 pm is around 6,500 Won ($5 USD) and from 7 pm – 7 am is around 13,000 Won ($10 USD) includes free coffee, condoms & lube.
Shelter Sauna is one of Seoul’s famous gay saunas in Gangnam (Nonhyeon Subway Station exit 5). This gay sauna attracts many locals from young muscles to cute bears. Shelter Sauna is located near Subway line 7, opens 24 hours, daily. Peak Time is weekend nights, after 7 pm
Crowd: For those who are seeking to experience kimchi muscles, this is the place for you. As the sauna is popular among Korean guys from young to middle age but not popular with older guests.
Entry: The sauna’s entry fee from 7 pm – 7 am is around 13,000 Won ($11 USD) and from 7 am – 7 pm is around 7,000 Won ($6 USD).
Mun Hwa Sauna is a gay bathhouse, popular among older Korean men and a few foreigners. This bathhouse gets active, especially on weekends with three hot baths, a steam room, and many other facilities. Open 24 hours, daily and peak hours are after 8 pm on weekends. Bring your own protection supplies.
Crowd: The most popular gay sauna in Jongno, it’s the only sauna to meet local silver fox, foreigners are welcome.
Entry: Mun Hwa Sauna’s entry fee during daytime is around 5,000 Won ($4 USD), nighttime is around 9,000 Won ($8 USD).
Hyundae Sauna is the longest-run gay sauna & cruise club in Itaewon, conveniently located in the main gay district, Homo Hill (well known among the local gay community). The sauna is on the second floor of the building, open 24 hours, daily. Popular among a younger crowd, and it gets busy after 8 pm, midnight and 6 am – 7 am after clubbing. Another nearby gay sauna to check out in Homo Hill is Equus Sauna.
Hyundae Sauna is the main gay sauna in Itaewon, near Seoul’s best gay party street, Homo Hill. Our recommendation to check it out is 11 pm and then head to Homo Hill (and you can still return after the party).
Crowd: The venue is welcome to all visitors, as it’s one of the best gay saunas in Seoul. It brings up all types of the crowd from the gay street after clubbing.
Entry: Entry fee for daytime from 6 am – 6 pm on Mon. – Thu. is around 7,000 Won ($7 USD), Fri. – Sun. and holiday is around 10,000 Won ($9 USD) and night time from 6 pm – 6 am is around 15,000 Won ($13 USD)
GM Sauna is a large gay cruising place in Gwanghui-dong near Subway Station, offers mirror maze, kinky rooms & BJ room. It’s open 24 hours, daily and usually gets busy after midnight and over weekends.
This popular gay sauna is located in Gwanghui-dong and only 2 mins walk from Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Subway Station. GM gay sauna offers 4 floors and every floor has its own style. Think of GM Sauna as more gay cruising venue than a sauna. 2/F has lockers and shower. 3/F has a mirror maze (must-try!), TV/video lounge, showers, kinky rooms with red lights and leather curtains, and even a BJ room. 4/F looks like something out of a pirate ship with long bunk rows top and bottom. 5/F is only open on Friday and Saturday for spillover.
Crowd: The venue is well come to all visitors for cruising in the mirror maze & shower area. The venue attracting mostly local bears and men over 30.
Entry: Entry fee before 9 pm is 7,000 Won ($6 USD). Before 9 pm is 14,000 Won ($11 USD) with free coffee, condoms & lube.
