Key West Gay Cruise Clubs

2 Cruise Beaches and 1 Day Pass Gay Hotels in Key West

Key West doesn’t have any saunas or official gay cruise clubs, but who needs labels? Still, there are three prime spots for Key West gay cruise clubs where the unofficial motto is: make a friend, or maybe two.

You’ve got your choice of cruise beaches. Higgs Beach is the unofficial gay beach, just a stone’s throw from the Duval Street gayborhood. Then there’s Smathers Beach, it’s bigger, more remote, and really packs in the crowds during the high season.

The third option? Grab a day pass for Island House Hotel. It’s a clothing-optional resort that’s gay-only and notorious for its wicked pool parties.

Island House is a gay male-only resort at the north of the Old Town, 1 mile east of the Duval Street gayborhood. Its clothing-optional pool area is where all the fun happens. There are pool parties every Wednesday and Sunday. While the hotel caters primarily to in-house guests, day passes are available for $30. If you make a new friend who has a room there, additional guest fees are $50 per night.

Unofficial Gay Beach of Key West

Clarence S. Higgs Memorial Beach (affectionately referred to as Higgs Beach) has been a popular cruise spot for gay men since the 1970s. Whilst not officially recognized as it, many refer to it as the gay beach of Key West,

It’s less than a mile south of the Duval Street gayborhood. Most of the action happens at the end of the pier, nicknamed ‘the dick dock.’ While there, take a moment to pay respects at the AIDS memorial.
