Location

Ubud is the yin to Seminyak’s yang. The latter is where you can party and eat out, and the former is where you de-stress, unwind, and take a mental time out. Ubud is a historic old town, filled with wellness retreats, and the famous Monkey Forest Sanctuary is only 5 km from the resort—you could walk there in 40 minutes. Viceroy Bali is perched above the Petanu Valley, so you’re immersed in nature but with five-star luxury. A nearby tourist site worth visiting is the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, which you’d recognize from every Bali travel site. They’re conveniently located 7km north of the Viceroy Hotel. The resort is 1 hr and 45 minutes by car north of the airport. If you feel like a drink at one of the gay bars in Seminyak, it’s around the same amount of time to get there.
