The Drake Hotel in the former gayborhood of Queen West originally opened in 1890 as Small’s Hotel. It has undergone many transformations; it was even a flophouse in the 1970s. In the 1980s, it was a punk bar. It was purchased in 2001 and reopened in 2004 as a boutique property emphasizing art, culture, and hospitality.
Located in the Queen West alternative neighborhood, the Underground nightclub in the hotel’s basement plays hip-hop, R&B, and Urban Top 40. The rooftop patio Sky Yard is open for weekend brunch and dinner every night. The hotel does not have fitness facilities.
Each of the 51 rooms has unique and eclectic decor that reflects the hotel's artistic and vibrant atmosphere. Local art is also in every room. Choose from the classic or modern wings.
