This boutique hotel stands out due to its unique rooms, each individually themed and decorated by Italian designer Max Viola. Some are playful, some understated and vintage, and some are more classically refined. All feature distinctive wallpaper by Italian interior design brand Fornasetti.
Some of the rooms can be quite small, although these are also very good value. Go for at least a Superior Room if you need space to spread out. Bright, airy, and colorful 1-bedroom apartments are also available, which can accommodate up to four people. These include a kitchenette with kettle, coffee maker, stovetop, and fridge.
A very good continental breakfast is included in the room rate, although not for the apartments. This is served in the lovely, colorful rooftop terrace overlooking Via Nazionale.
Salotto Monti has an exceptional location, within walking distance of many of Rome’s main landmarks. Within a 15-minute walk, you can reach Palazzo Venezia, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and the Colosseum. This also means you can easily walk to many of Rome’s most popular gay bars, such as My Bar and Coming Out.
