Room007 Chueca is one of the top-rated hostels in Madrid. This cool spot has everything you would expect from a modern hostel: fun and colorful design, comfy dorms and privates, and super friendly and knowledgeable staff.

The dorm rooms range from 4-person to a huge 11-person duplex room, and all come with individual lockers and plug sockets as well as super-comfy beds and linen. The privates are excellent, featuring wall art inspired by Spanish artists and contemporary furniture – there is even an option with a private terrace. Despite the impeccable quality, Room007 remains affordable on the whole and offers very good value for money.

The hostel has its own gastrobar, Saporem, which serves drinks and tapas well beyond your standard hostel kitchen fare. However, those who like hanging out in a large hostel communal area may be disappointed to find the set-up is closer to that of a hotel and that there’s not really that much room to chat to other travelers.

Room007 benefits from an ideal location, just between gay Chueca and its hipster neighbor Malasaña. The surrounding area is young, lively, and vibrant, so the lack of a proper hostel-style party bar isn’t strongly felt. For gay visitors, La Kama Cafe, Shower & Bar cruise bar, and LL Bar are all just a minute away.
