Most Booked

Gay travelers looking for a welcoming hotel in authentic Khmer village style in the heart of Siem Reap must consider Rambutan Resort.
Gay-friendly means you’re sure to find many other like-minded guests already staying there.

Its location is spot-on; either the Pub Street bars or gay nightlife are within 10 minutes of walking (or staggering home after a big night).

It’s two properties next to each other, which means there are two pools to choose from. The restaurant and spa are open to guests from either property.

We love that the hotel is environmentally and socially responsible, and the use of green energy across the properties gets a big tick in our book. Rambutan Resort is one of the most booked gay hotels in Siem Reap.

Why We Love It

♥ One of the most booked gay hotels in Siem Reap
♥ Two swimming pools
♥ Bathtubs on most balconies
♥ Less than 10 minutes walk from gay nightlife

Location

Rambutan Resort Siem Reap is in a fantastic location. It’s in a quieter part of the city, yet only minutes away from everything a gay traveler needs. It’s only a few minutes' walk to the night market by the river. Cross the Old Market Bridge, and in less than 5 minutes, you’re in the world-famous Pub Street, where most of the city’s nightlife is. The nearest gay bars, Miss Wong’s and Barcode, are just under 10 minute's walk or a couple of minutes on a motorcycle or Tuk Tuk. Gay travelers visiting Siem Reap to see the impressive temple complex of Angkor Wat — and that’s the real reason you’re here, right? — it's a 15-minute drive north of the hotel.

Style & Design

Rambutan Resort Siem Reap are two properties next door to each other. Both are designed in an authentic Khmer village style and are oases in the heart of the bustling city. They’re stylishly designed with loads of local touches, including locally-made furniture, contemporary artwork, and Khmer silk textiles.

Facilities

Both properties have a saltwater pool surrounded by a lush tropical garden. The hotel pool welcomes children accompanied by their parents, while the resort pool is for those aged 14 and older. The resort pool is larger than the hotel one, and due to its location, it gets more sun, keeping the water at a comfortable temperature year-round. The restaurant is at the resort, and we love the full-flow breakfast— it’s served until noon, perfect if you’re recovering from a massive night out. A local Khmer and a Belgian chef head the restaurant. Combined, there’s enough variety for guests to eat every meal of their stay there. If you’ve never had a Khmer massage, it’s something you must add to your itinerary. It’s similar to a Thai one, except it gets deeper into the muscles. The spa at the hotel offers these, as well as aroma and Swedish massages. It’s very popular, so be sure to book to avoid missing out.

Rooms

The hotel rooms are villas; most are double story with a bedroom downstairs and a living area upstairs. The balcony adjoining the living room overlooks the pool. The resort accommodations are oversized rooms with bathtubs on their balconies. Our pick is the rooftop terrace, a two-story villa with a private sundeck and bathtub. All the rooms are Khmer style with earth tones and wood and metal finishes. The Rambutan Hotel and Resort is eco-friendly and uses green energy to the max in every room.
