This NH Collection Hotel is located around the middle of Gran Via, one of Madrid’s major streets. This positions it within easy walking distance to most of the city’s major attractions: Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, and El Prado National Museum are all within a 15-minute walking radius of the hotel. More importantly, the Chueca gay neighborhood is just next door, with gay bars like Enfrente, Kavu Next, HOT, Rick’s, and ZARPA all about 3 minutes away.
The hotel is decorated in a simple but sleek contemporary style. The rooms are quite minimalist, with soothing greys, whites, and blues, and come with good amenities like bathrobes, Nespresso coffee machine, rain effect showers, and extremely comfortable beds. Some have views over Gran Via.
There is an extremely pleasant and comfortable rooftop terrace, where a Sky Bar serves tapas and cocktails with a view. However, this only opens during the summer months, so for the rest of the year, you can head to the stylish indoor bar. There is also a restaurant, Picalagartos, blending Mediterranean cuisine with more traditional Madrid elements. The buffet breakfast is tasty, generous, and good value for money.
