Hotel Continental Saigon was inaugurated in 1880 and claims to be the first hotel in Vietnam. During the French Colonial period, it was one of the centers of social and political life in the country. It has been renovated often in order to keep up with the times, but has managed to retain its original charm and ambiance. This means the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, but with antique furnishings and art that take you back in time. There are two restaurants, a bar, and a cafe, all rich in local history. It is located on the iconic Dong Khoi Street, directly facing the Opera House.
