Bairro Alto Hotel

Bairro Alto Hotel is located just between Bairro Alto and Chiado, offering the best of Lisbon’s cosmopolitan nightlife as well as its traditional cultural center. This luxury boutique hotel has been designed with renowned Portuguese architects and designers, just recently undergoing a renovation led by award-winning architect Souto de Moura. The hotel itself is ranked within the top 30 Lisbon hotels on TripAdvisor and is the winner of a Conde Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Award.

The rooms and suites are all supremely comfortable, most of them offering great views over the city and all including excellent amenities such as Le Labo toiletries, Marshall Dock Station, and high-tech entertainment system. The decor is elegant and subdued, with neutral and pastel tones highlighted by the occasional geometric pattern or pop of rich color.

Both BAHR, the hotel’s restaurant and bar, and the rooftop terrace feature menus designed by Michelin-star-winning chef Nuno Mendes. The latter is an intimate (bookings recommended!) and gorgeous spot to admire the city’s beautiful seaside location from above. Downstairs, a Pastelaria offers coffee and home-baked goods throughout the day. There is also a small but well-equipped gym and basic sauna facilities.
