It is one of the top 30 hotels in Madrid on TripAdvisor, which is a testament both to Madrid’s popularity with gay visitors and to the hotel’s overall exceptional standards.

The rooms feature some of Axel Hotel’s most quirky and unique designs, honoring the 80’s counterculture of Madrid. In the smaller rooms, you can expect pink neon and black and white tiles, while the larger ones feature a more baroque style with plenty of gold and intricately molded walls. The Gold Deluxe suite in particular feels like your own private palace, including a freestanding bathtub next to the bed.

Axel Hotel Madrid features an exceptional rooftop terrace with swimming pool, loungers, and a trendy Sky Bar that is a popular gay meeting point in central Madrid. The best thing is that, unlike many other hotel terraces, this one can be enjoyed year-round. There is a small but well-equipped gym, jacuzzi, sauna, and massage booth also available.
