Hamburg’s nightlife has embraced an event-based vibe, even in the straight scene, where big clubs often rent their spaces to promoters for special events. For the LGBTQ+ community, this means Hamburg gay clubs thrive on unique, occasional big parties instead of a single weekly mega-club. While the gay crowd is smaller than in Berlin, it’s dynamic and full of energy, creating a scene that’s vibrant, diverse, and always ready to surprise.
There are three gay parties in the Hamburg scene, two of them 136 Grad and PiNK INC are monthly, while Dare! @ Nachtasyl has moved to a twice-yearly event. The club scene is in the St Pauli hub, a 10-minute drive from the St Georg gayborhood.
Insider Tip
The parties start around 11 pm and by midnight they’re usually packed so get there early.
As the party scene is now pop-up there’s no bar hopping style of clubbing in Hamburg.

Dare! @ Nachtasyl is a pop-up gay dance party, held a couple of times a year around Pride and New Year at Nachtasyl club just west of the St Georg gayborhood. The club is an intimate bar at the top of the Thalia Theater. The music is entirely 80s themed, expect pop, wave, Italo disco, dance classics, and funk. The crowd is mostly gay men in their 30s to 50s who either experienced this music first hand or discovered it later as retro. The unofficial dress code is vintage 80s looks, or fun themed outfits, rather than fetish or high-fashion clubwear.
Dare! is usually held on a Saturday night from 11 pm until 6 am.

PiNK INC is Hamburg’s biggest pop-up gay dance party. It began over a decade ago and has become a staple of the gay nightlife scene. Rather than sticking to one venue, PiNK INC. shifts between iconic locations across the city, like Schmidt’s Tivoli, Fabrik Hamburg (Altona), Klubhaus St. Pauli, Docks, and Mojo Club.
Events usually happen on the first or last Saturday of the month and kick off around 23:00. They then run until early morning. Tickets range from €15 (standard) to €18 (fast lane).
The event usually covers two floors: pop & charts on the first floor, and black, R&B, and hip-hop on the second. Hosted by Pandora Box and other guest DJs and performers, the party promises live shows, drag acts, and a hyper-positive, “Be Pink” atmosphere. The party is known for its rainbow-filled energy, expressive attendees, and inclusive vibe.

136°, now known as 136 Grad, remains Hamburg’s go-to electronic gay clubbing night. Originally based at Reeperbahn 136 in St. Pauli, it has now relocated to WunderBar, just around the corner. The music features house, techno, progressive, melodic techno, and tech-house genres, creating a vibrant and immersive dance experience.
Grad 136 motto is: Dive down, dance yourself free—fog surrounds you—you’re home. The vibe is euphoric and liberating. The party draws a fashion-conscious, club-savvy crowd, mostly late 20s to early 40s. The organisers are big on self-expression; they encourage guests to wear leather harnesses, mesh tops, glitter, or Berlin-style black-on-black.
