Silom | Bangkok’s Gay Town

Silom Bangkok’s Gay Town

Silom is to Bangkok what SoHo is to London and the East Village is to New York. While also the main financial district, Silom is the gay capital of Bangkok and Thailand.

Like all of Bangkok, Silom has a mix of everything from luxury hotels, fancy restaurants, and slick office skyscrapers to street-food, pavement markets, and dirty massage parlors. Being the center of the gay district the street stalls are a great place to buy super trendy locally designed bargain clothing. The stalls have everything a gay man might desire including a great selection of super-cheap fake designer underwear.

There are three key streets any gay tourist should visits.

  1. Silom Soi 2 is an alleyway home to a range of gay clubs and the Bangkok most famous gay club DJ Station.
  2. Silom Soi 4 a short street full of gay bars perfect for relaxing with a drink while people watching.
  3. Soi Twilight is where you will find Bangkok’s largest selection of “entertainment bars” with boys shows.
