A Queer-Centric Drag Hub

Lo de Carmen in the Poble-sec area of Barcelona 1.5 km south of the Eixample gayborhood is a queer-centric drag hub. Lo de Carmen explicitly centers drag, trans, and non-binary communities, hosting live drag shows and karaoke in a welcoming, activist-aligned atmosphere. It’s not for everyone; however, it attracts a very mixed crowd looking for a safe space. The decor is an Instagrammer’s dream with retro posters highlighted by neon lights.

Lo de Carmen is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 7 pm and closes at 12.30 on Sundays and later as the week goes on.
