The Ultimate Gay Travel Guide
The Gay Passport is your complete Gay Travel Guide. Looking to Drink, Play or Sleep we have reviews to help. Award-winning & Updated 2025.
Mexico City is massive, covering almost 1,500 square meters. There are nearly 1,000 hotels in the city, including a variety of gay-friendly hotels, particularly around the city’s vibrant gay hub. Many of these hotels are conveniently located within walking distance of popular gay bars, clubs, and cultural spots.
Swimming pools are a common feature in gay hotel Mexico City options, especially at the 5-star level. However, quite a few 4-star properties in the gay hub also boast pools, with some even offering stunning rooftop pools. If you’re specifically looking for a gay hotel in Mexico City, you’ll find a few gay-owned and operated properties, but they’re tiny and surprisingly not near the Zona Rosa gayborhood.
Marriott and Accor groups are heavily represented in Mexico City, with eight properties on our list alone, including gay hotel Mexico City options. If you’re a Marriott Bonvoy or ALL-Accor Live Limitless member, look out for the additional benefits that are available to you.
Pet lovers, take note: Mexico City hotels are a bit on the reserved side, with only six properties rolling out the welcome mat for your furry friends.
And here’s the cherry on top: Mexico City won’t break your bank! Whether it’s a chic mid-range spot or a lively gay hotel, you’re looking at $60-$150 per night. Now that’s worth celebrating!
With so many hotel options in Mexico City, choosing one is time-consuming. We’re helping out by covering the 17 best gay-friendly ones. Except for one, the others are all either in the Zona Rosa gayborhood or on the bordering streets.
For gay hotel Mexico City options, we’ve also featured two gay-owned and operated properties; they’re very boutique, with less than ten rooms, and very close to the gay areas.
Gay travelers favour several areas in Mexico City.
The most prominent gay hub in Mexico City is the Zona Rosa, a vibrant triangle bordered by Paseo de la Reforma to the north, Insurgents Avenue to the east, and Chapultepec Avenue to the south. Most of the gay venues are concentrated in the heart of this area, around Londres Street.
This hub is surrounded by tourist attractions, such as the Angel Independence Monument at the north, Insurgents Plaza in the southeastern corner, and the giant Chapultepec Castle on the hill directly to the west.
Centro Historico is the next area popular with gay tourists looking for gay hotel Mexico City options. The old city retains much of its architecture from the past, with gay-friendly restaurants and bars sprinkled around.
The Roma district, directly east of the Zona Rosa gayborhood, is a grittier, grungier hub with mixed bars that get quite a gay crowd.
