Mexico City gay bathhouses and saunas scene joints have been catering to the gay community for years, offering strictly men-only vibes and each with its own special flair. The cruise club? It’s the fast-food version of hookups—don’t expect to stay for the ambiance. As for the saunas, one has masseurs who might just follow you home, while the other spices things up with a bar, dance floor, and, yes, even a foam party. Because nothing says ‘party’ like suds and studs, right?
The saunas in Mexico City are considered safe spaces, prioritizing their clients’ privacy and anonymity. The biggest challenge may be that the staff don’t all speak fluent English.
Hookup culture in Mexico City doesn’t believe in waiting for the sun to set, especially around the Mexico City gay bathhouses. Why waste daylight? The real magic happens in the early morning hours after a wild Friday or Saturday night out. These venues are designed for a quick rendezvous rather than hours of quality time together. So if you’re looking for a lengthy affair, you might need to adjust your expectations—or your venue!

Sodome Bath House, also known as SO.DO.ME is an upscale sauna just to the northwest of the Zona Rosa gayborhood. It has the most facilities of the three venues in Mexico City, with a bar, dancefloor, and foam party room in addition to the regular steam rooms and showers.
It’s open 6 days a week, Wednesdays to Mondays from 6 pm to midnight, or later if there’s still a crowd. There are weekly theme nights and guest DJs, which can be accessed on its Instagram Page.

La Casita CDMX is a gay cruise club in North Roma, around five blocks south of the Zona Rosa gayborhood. Described as filthy and decadent, it’s a popular place for hook-ups.
Unlike bath houses, this is a cruise club. As such there aren’t any showers, lockers, or a bar. There are dark rooms, toilets, video rooms streaming porn and couches. La Casita CDMX or more about a quick hookup than spending a few hours relaxing and making new acquaintances.
La Casita CDMX is advertised as opening 24 hours. Male adults 18+ and over are permitted. The door staff may not speak much English.

Banos Finisterre is a gay bath house in the San Rafael district, 2 km north of the Zona Rosa gayborhood. It has the standard facilities expected at a sauna including a steam room, wet and dry saunas. Massages are available and many reviewers claim they’re well worth the money.
At first glance the operating hours may seem unusual, 6 am to 9 pm don’t seem to be busy hours. Yet the sauna gets a lot of the crowd just getting out of the nightclubs and looking to continue their night with some fun. We were unable to determine if the club provides free condoms and lube so taking your own might be a wise choice.
