Ibiza town is the main nightlife hub on the island and Figueretes, a stylish resort in the suburbs, is home to the closest large beach. Most guys to Ibiza stay in one of these areas, or in the Dalt Villa old town. It’s about a half-hour walk or a 15-minute taxi between Figueretes beach and Calle de la Virgen (also known locally as Carrer de la Mare de Deu), the main gay street in Ibiza town. Choose between beach or town vibes for your stay, or meet in the middle with something near the center of Ibiza town.
Sant Antoni, on the western coast of the island, is a lively resort town with great nightlife, fabulous sunsets, and a wide range of water sports and adventure activities. There are no gay bars or clubs in Sant Antoni, but there are two popular gay Ibiza hotels, which makes it exceptionally easy to meet fellow gays. Plus, the lively nightlife is incredibly gay-friendly.

As a world capital of party culture with an ever-growing gay scene, Ibiza is about as gay-friendly as you can get. Gay visitors are welcome throughout the island, and you’ll find increasingly more spaces labeling themselves as “hetero-friendly”.
As a whole, Spain is a very tolerant country of homosexuality. In fact, a 2013 study found it to have the highest rate of homosexual acceptance (88%) of all countries polled.
Most of the island’s gay nightlife is located in Ibiza town. Most gay visitors book hotels near Ibiza town and neighboring Platja de ses Figueretes (Figueretas beach) for this reason.
In Sant Antoni there are two exclusive gay hotels. Sant Antoni sits 20 minutes drive from Ibiza town and is a second lively resort town with great (non-gay) nightlife. Ibiza is a large island, so hopping in a taxi between the gay hotels in Sant Antoni and the main gay nightlife in Ibiza town can get expensive and difficult. If you are keen on both experiences, we suggest booking a few nights in each area to allow you to really make the most of gay Ibiza.
